Hello, I
am 13-year-old KeyAna Williams and the reigning Miss
Brooklyn Outstanding Teen. I decided to sell
magazine subscriptions for the Children’s Miracle
Network Hospitals because I feel we all have to do
our part in helping to raise funds for the work the
hospitals do for sick children. I came about doing
this by accident. I was on the Miss America website
and then noticed the CMN link and went into it and
while on the site saw the box that said to “buy
magazines, support the miracle”, I was ready to
convince my mother to buy magazines but actually
getting my family and friends to buy as well has
been great. I sent out an email to everyone on our
distribution list giving them information about the
magazine campaign and was pleased to get a good
response, some subscriptions, and some promises to
get back to me. I usually donate one dollar at
Pathmark Supermarket when they have the balloons at
the checkout and always feel proud when mine is put
on the wall. I remember when I was little, my
mother always had them put my (and my brother’s)
balloons low enough for us to see every time we went
in. My goal is to raise $300.00 for the Metro New
York CMN Hospitals.
